“No business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its workers has any right to continue in this country. By ‘business’ I mean the whole of commerce as well as the whole of industry; by workers I mean all workers, the white collar class as well as the men in overalls; and by living wages I mean more than a bare subsistence level - I mean the wages of decent living.”
- Franklin D. Roosevelt, 1933

In my lifetime, I have seen the disparity between the rich and the rest of us - grow significantly.
At this rate, it makes me wonder if the middle class is going to survive - will there only be the rich & poor?
When I worked in the retirement industry - 10 years ago - we were told that most families are 1 paycheck away from homelessness. When most people retire, the only savings they have, is the equity in their home, if they own a home, otherwise they are totally dependent on social security.
Pretty scary stuff - I’m guessing it isn’t any better today.
