- OTM Live Blogger’s dinner. Friday, November 2nd, 5-7 PM.
- Circa: Eastside Foursquare Church, Kirkland Washington(exact location of blogger’s dinner to be announced (once we figure out where it’s gonna be)). Anticipated cost of dinner U.S.$10-U.S.$20. (due at the time of the dinner)
- RSVP: Email Benjamin dot ady@ gmail dot com (after reformatting, of course–did that to avoid spam) Include “Blogger’s Dinner” in the subject line.
- Note: When you RSVP, please indicate whether you will have a car, and if so extra spaces for passengers, and/or whether you will need a ride from conference to dinner and back. We’re just trying to get a feel for whether greater than walking distance is feasible.

1Can I ask what the actual purpose of the dinner might be (e.g. just a chance to get numerous bloggers together and allow networking, etc.)?

wow. hadn’t really thought of a “Purpose” per se. Isn’t that intriguing. I seem to mentally connect “purpose” with “work”, and I’m more thinking of this as “fun”.
But if we must have a purpose, by all means let us have a purpose. I think you nailed the purpose (or I guess Bill Dahl would say “porpoise”) pretty well.

3I think the porpoise is to meet some of our regular contributors face to face. And eat. And drink a beer or something. I, for one, will be there along with my hot wife, Sandy. We will have a rental car, probably something the size of a smart car, but we can pile people in if we need to. This is assuming, of course, that I don’t get commandeered by the Big Kahuna for some less worthy engagement.

4No problem if there isn’t a purpose–I was just curious if there was some specific reason around which this was all being planned.
But hey, good conversations over good food and drink is a good enough reason for me. :)

9I only ask because a ride to the conference might be actually *easier* to do than a ride just to the blogger’s dinner–cause we’ll all mostly already be over there at 5 PM. We could probably work out a ride to the conference–I’m pretty close to the U. If that works for you, why not email me at Benjamin.ady at gmail.com

11Yeah, I’m very bummed about it. The good news is, after being felled by seizures a few weeks ago, the dr. thinks it is “only” migraines. I had never heard of migraine-induced seizures before, or non-headache migraines.
I’m expecting some fast & furious blogging from Seattle everyone!

12Doreen I’m glad they found a cause for your seizures but still sorry you can’t make it :(
I expect there will be live blogging - I think Jim officially recruited John Smulo to live blog - I know he’ll take great notes. And I expect others will live blog it too.
Btw Xianhang has a ride to dinner.
